Undergrad University Transfer: URGENT
Hello everyone,
I'm currently a freshman at a national university in Ukraine. International Economics major.

It's a completely unheard university, although in Ukraine it is one of the best.
Additionally, it follows ECTS system.
To be honest, I've nothing against this university since my focus is Eastern European region, but still - western universities provide much bigger platform in terms of learning opportunities.
My qualm is that I would like to transfer myself to some other university, to the US, or preferably in Europe.
(France, Sweden, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, UK etc.)
Reason being clear: more opportunities etc. Problem is that I do not have enough finances to sustain that easily in Europe.
Are you aware of any university where I could transfer to and which provides undergrad funding as well?
Europe has much cheaper tuition than the US for school if you're an international student, though the cost of living will be higher. No idea about financial aid for international students in either region though.
I know that Europe has cheaper tuition than the US. Unfortunately I need some assistance in financial aid. Cost of living in some places is tad too high for me - with some sort of financial aid/research assistant position/work-and-study program at some company, it could become much easier for me.
All of the colleges in the U.S. offer financial aid. You can borrow money to go to school in the U.S.. All of your education plus living expenses. I would not recommend this though. I have 140k in debt and it sucks. Don't do it.
Why do you really want to move?
Why I want to move would seem like a no-brainer. I'm an international student at Eastern European university.
I have spend almost 2 years living here, and can speak fluent Russian now.
If I graduate from here, I believe I wouldn't be valued higher than my peers when it comes to getting into Consulting/Banking in this region. On the other hand, I have linguistic skills under the belt. Perspective of Russian/Ukrainian companies is that they naturally value a graduate from EU university higher on scale than local graduate. I could transfer to some EU university, graduate from there and leverage these linguistic skills and local understanding, as well as time I spend for getting into Consulting/Banking here, since that would make my profile more competitive. Not to mention, the opportunities I can get in the form of work, research, internships etc. at a European university.
I'm from Eastern Europe and go to school in the US. Needed a lot of financial aid too. However, as an international transfer student, chances are you won't get any funding by US schools (I applied right after high school and it was pretty tough getting financial aid, almost impossible if you are a transfer student, I was looking to switch schools at some point so I can say I'm familiar). You don't wanna be in debt, especially if you aren't guaranteed staying in the US after graduation.
Look into Danish schools, the courses are taught in English and I believe that if you are from the EU, then tuition is free.
Can you name some of these Danish schools?Simple search didn't help me. I myself am in the same waters n would like to know.
