What are the benefits of becoming a CPA?

I’m a CPA that got into IB. I think it shows a strong work ethic and ability to grind. It helped get interviews and I didn’t really get grilled on accounting technicals in interviews. No real benefit other than that. I don’t tell a soul about my CPA because then I will be expected to know accounting which I do not. I will pass on researching the S-corp election impact on the tax step up NPV.

One of the benefits is that woman become allergic to you.
Poor people actually think CPAs are rich. But yeah I’m into poor women.

Most CFOs and VP/SVP of Finance have a CPA or public auditing background. This is changing slowly over time, but CPA is practically a requirement to become senior level in most companies.
