Where Can Agentic AI Actually Add Value in Investment Banking?

Agentic AI seems to be moving beyond simple chatbots toward systems that can handle multi-step workflows, such as research, document analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence.

For investment banking and private equity teams, where do you think agentic AI can create the most meaningful productivity gains? Would you trust an AI agent to independently handle parts of due diligence, market research, financial analysis, or portfolio monitoring, or is human oversight still essential for most high-stakes tasks?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually experimented with AI agents in finance rather than just using AI for drafting or summarization.
