1 year in operating post PE

Alright team, I’m at a well known growth shop and it’s 2 and out. What do you all think of operating at a port co for a year before business school if I want to get back into PE/GE(want an extra year to build my application + learn the skillset). Started in consulting.

    • Operating experience can be highly valuable if you plan to return to PE/GE. It provides a different perspective and skill set that can be beneficial in investment roles.
    • Firms often value candidates with operational experience, as it demonstrates a broader understanding of business management and strategy.
  2. Business School Application:

    • Spending a year in an operational role can strengthen your business school application by showcasing diverse experience and a well-rounded skill set.
    • It can also provide you with unique insights and experiences to discuss in your application essays and interviews.
