Advice Needed: International in US PE Going to MBA (H1B expired)

For some background - worked in IBD, have spent last few years in PE at very well regarded MM fund. I got the H1B when I graduated college and my 6 years are up. I will be attending a M7 school (got in round 1) and want to go back into PE

For internationals who have been through the process - can you please help and provide your experiences on the difficulty of getting a post-MBA VP gig? It is hard enough as a US citizen so am a bit worried as an international passport holder from one of the "backlog countries "(China / India / Korea)
