Altamont Capital Partners

Hey Folks,

I'm considering an offer from ACP (MM PE with 4.5bn AUM) to enter their analyst program. I have an itch to try PE and would want to figure out whether it's for me early. However, I feel like 2 questions need to be answered:

1) If I join ACP as an analyst, will that severely limit my ability to do PE at a MF down the road?

2) Is the name brand of a top group at a top BB firm worth 2 years even though I know I wouldn't enjoy my job?

Context / points to consider:

- BX Tac Opps is my dream exit.

- I don't want to be in PE for the long-haul unless I can work ≤ 60 hours a week in my 30s (so I'd leave for more of a lifestyle fund down the road anyways).

- ACP is pretty well known at my college, but I need to learn more about it's reputation more broadly.

- I'd be able to join ACP after 2 years in either IB or consulting

Thanks team!
