Am I fucked?

So I chose to do some super early networking with some buyside shops that run summer analyst programs since they tend to recruit earliest. In a coffee chat with a guy at Vista I referred to Robert Smith as Robert Zane by accident.

Should I even bother targeting vista anymore or is this just a total write off. Feeling pretty fucking stupid lol.

Lol there's worse things and lots of firms, I bet the person thought it was funny, and if they didn't then you probably don't work to at a shop where mixing up last names is a death sentence

It’s fine I’ve done that before, that doesn’t mean you can no longer recruit there. Remember finance folks get 100s of emails every day they can care less honestly

Go ahead and JUMP!

I'm currently at Vista, and I assure you that everyone at the firm is super chill and would find that hilarious. Don't stress it –  just send them a thank you note and add a line telling them you realized your mistake after the call.
