Any Thoughts On PE Exit Ops Coming From A Specialized Boutique?

Hi, I'll be starting as an analyst at a specialized Investment Bank operating around the $300-$800mm in EV range that deals with clients only in specific industries (think Clean Energy, Digital Media, Consumer Goods, FinTech). Are my exit ops limited to that industry I'm focused on? Do headhunters even reach out to smaller boutique analysts? If my goal is to work on larger publicly traded deals (take privates, roll ups) is my best bet to get an MBA after my 2-3 year stint? Please let me know - kind of spinning my wheels here.
