Anybody worked at investment consulting before/after PE?

I have two similar offers as a reporting/operational role with investment consulting (OCIO for institutional clients) and a growth equity firm. My first job out of college when I didn't know squat was investment consulting, so I know and I don't know how the investment consulting job would go. It could be similar to wealth management, but with an institutional twist/more avenues for specialization. I'm pretty new to alternative asset classes, and it's more of an operational/reporting role at the growth equity firm.

For those of you who have worked both, which did you enjoy more? Any key differences or insights would be much appreciated.
