Anyone familiar with Actis?

Lads I'm going through interviews with them - seem like a friendly bunch but has anyone worked with them or can comment on their sophistication given their focus on Africa? I'm exploring a lateral move and trying to get a sense of how their funds have done and how transferable my creds might be to other funds after spending some years at Actis.

Thanks all

They are very active in my market and I know the team. Generally very smart people, humble, motivated and they have a very nice friendly culture. They are also very picky with deals. Happy to share details if you want over PM.

Hi OP,

I'm interviewing with Actis now, was hoping to drop you a PM but couldn't seem to access the necessary function (still learning how to navigate the website). I was hoping to find out more about the interview process? I understand that there's an initial conversation, followed by a case study, and a final chat with a partner. Wondering if you had any insights on each stage/notes based on your experience? Cheers.

Hi Pierheld,

I'm interviewing with Actis for the summer associate position. I wanted to how was your experience and what kind of questions were asked in interview with deal team, case study presentation round and the partner's round.

Would you be able to give me an idea about your experience?

Thanks!

Going through a first round interview now. My understanding is that they're going to be more focused on real estate and infrastructure, possibly a bit of a focus on renewable energy. Seen their name tagged to a few renewable energy deals in India, some data centres in China/SKorea.

I don't know how the middle east office functions. I know the summer associate position I'm interviewing for is usually meant for MBA students. I'm not doing my MBA, they might just be interested in the fact that I've gotten a bit of an infra background since I started working in 2019.
