Anyone know Acon Investments?

Anyone know anything about this firm?

We ran into them during a process and I had never heard of them. This despite their website saying they manage ~$5B and have very recognizable portfolio company names (Borden, True Value, etc.). They also do not seem to be very focused on A&D (despite being in D.C.).

Curious if anyone else has worked with them, knows more about their criteria (limited notes online), or anything of the sort.

Thanks.

Seeded in part by David Bonderman to do LatAm buyouts (around the same time he did the same with Halifax Group in the lower MM and Iron Point in real estate). They've expanded more into traditional US buyouts. Had a casual dining franchisee investment that didn't go so hot recently and was in the news.

Any idea what culture / work-life balance is there based on your two contacts? I’ve seen a number of recent job postings by them, but can’t find anything too helpful online.
