Apollo Hiring Freeze

Have applied to a Credit job in Apollo’s London office and have been told by the manager that I have the job, but an offer can’t be issued since there is a hiring freeze at the moment. Does anyone have a view on this? I think it’s BS, but would be helpful to get a view from someone who knows more than me, ideally an insider.

Not an insider but today I just saw over LinkedIn that another guy/girl started in this team at the London office. :P

There is a hiring freeze but expected to end shortly. Anyone with an outstanding offer from prior to the hiring freeze is able to join.
