Appian Cap & mining pe
Hi all,
Recently ran into some people from this fund (Appian cap advisory) and was wondering about their reputation ? Would also be very curious to hear different people's thoughts on the broader mining pe industry ? Seems like an interesting value proposition to me with the big tailwinds to the sector, was also wondering if the increased importance of these commodities in firms' and countries' strategies would open further interesting exit opps down the line (no clue, still a student here). As per usual grateful for any info, and would really welcome a discussion on the mining sector etc
The universe itself is very small and the list of credible investors is even smaller.
If you're thinking mining buyside, I would encourage looking at funds that invest across the cap stack.
thank you for the advice, seems they do that (equity & various debt strats)
Appian had a solid rep and is one of a small handful of reasonably good firms in the space
Though I would give hard thought to whether you want to go into a niche space with only a handful of reasonably good firms
