Are PE headhunters useful for non-IB analysts?

1 year of prior banking experience and 1 year of current corporate / operational experience - would the main headhunters (CPI, Amity, etc.) be helpful to try to break into LMM / MM PE or would they only be focused on the traditional on-cycle path for current first years? Are there headhunters that would be more receptive in working with someone not on "the path?" Looking at both New York and Boston locations.

Yeah that’s my current role -  more strategy and a bit fp&a not corp dev. Was thinking lmm / mm might be more receptive and see more value in having both the financial and operational background for both the investing and also portfolio company management whereas the largest funds while having the most rigid recruiting processes, also probably have separate operations guys. Was not initially interested in PE right out of banking but feeling really slowed down in corporate and I think both of my experiences now lend well to all aspects of PE day-to-day work. The LMM space / bordering MM seem like an exciting place to get into and grow longer term - smaller funds seem more receptive to career track and less strictly 2-year programs as well. Relatively new at looking into PE so happy to hear thoughts from those in the industry if this move looks to make sense. Considered if corp dev would’ve made sense too but I think the corporate environment really isn’t for me.
