Asian Boutique to PE ?
I'm starting out in a regional IB boutique in Asia post MBA. I am already 27 years old but have close to 4 years of non banking work ex in a tech company, I plan to work for 2-3 years in the boutique before I move to a PE shop.
Would age be a deal breaker after 2 years to enter a PE firm ? I was wondering since I thought I would be competing with 2nd or 3rd year analysts who will be around 24 to 26 years old, while I already would be around 29 yo.
Don't think they really check your age man.
But wouldn't that come out from my CV that I had considerable work-ex before MBA ?
Even so, 29 is still young to me. It wouldn't be a concern if you're a good candidate.
