Assoc Process - Consumer & Retail

I am currently an Assoc of PE fund in Brazil, focused mainly in Ag & Food. I've been invited for process at an US PE fund focused in Consumer Goods, passed through the modelling tests, and had an interview with local HR that I judged to be pretty good.

It's been almost 40 days since the last interview, made a FUP 3 weeks ago and they answered that next steps would be sent in the "next several days/weeks", so far no news. What do you think fellas? Am I dead already?

Sorry to say if they really were gung ho about you they would have made the offer. You can do a few things:

* Just assume it's not working out and if they come back to you, great, pleasantly surprised, otherwise it just frees up headspace

* Ask them again (might come across as pushy but there's a nearly impossibly narrow set of scenarios where you asking about process timing is what makes them say no if they weren't already a no

* Try to force their hand. "Hey I have an offer, I really vibed with your team you're my top choice, but I need to know"
