That’s underpaid. Starts around 135 base + upto 100% variable bonus.
No LMM PE associate 1s in the Midwest are making 270 cash. I work in PE in the Midwest and have friends at shops in every midwestern city. Base can range widely, but all in cash is always in the ~$200k range +/- 30k
Here’s another comp datapoint. Outside of Chicago, LMM cash comp for associates hovered around 200l for funds under 1bn
