Can't speak to pay, culture or hours, but I believe Atalaya and Victory Park have much higher return thresholds than your typical credit fund. As a result, i believe they invest in a lot of payday and installment lenders who have trouble getting bank financing.

Real quotes from a friend's working experience at Beach Point:

"Shut up, you need to stop talking" (from one superior to a junior guy during team meeting on merits of a speculative idea that they were pitching)

"Your role is to be his bitch, so deal with it"

"You don't know anything, so I need to retrain and rewire your brain"

"1st year banking analyst is better than you"
