Bain Consulting co-investing in Private Equity client deals

I've heard that Bain Consulting (not Bain PE) does a significant amount of co-investing into their PE clients deals. Does anyone know if this is true? If yes, does anyone know the mechanics behind this? Are they investing off Bain & Co's balance sheet? Is it just the partners at Bain & Co? Is it open to more junior staff? Do they have a fund that makes these co-investments....??? curious to learn anything i can about this.
