Yes Infra PE is a whole segment - best to start off in Infra or P&U IB.

Depends how "underdeveloped" you want to go. Plenty of infra PE work happening globally, the true developing countries with very little infrastructure (i.e. parts of Africa or the Middle East) are less given those are riskier plays with a lot of barriers - political issues in many areas, limited liquidity, corruption/project risk, etc. The World Bank does a ton of infra work in those countries where PE-style investing is less feasible.

Thank you. What type of work would I need to do to go in this path? Like how do I prepare if u have any idea

Infra IB or power & utilities IB

If you are in college - great. Try to land IB and then network heavily into these groups.

If you are out of college - IB can be tricky to get into. MBA is usually the best route

Heads up that the World Bank pays next to nothing. It's very much a government job. Infra PE has pluses and minuses (is very granular, detailed work which = a lot of hours) but it at least pays PE comp...

Oh…yeah I’ve landed something for IB already but I was thinking about taking that with me to do something in the intersection of public policy/finance and it was just a thought…not sure but I guess I’ll keep searching for other opportunities
