bdt merchant banking as an associate?
some older threads have mentioned that BDT employees pride themselves working on both advisory and investing deals. is this still the case now or do associates get to choose to specialize only in investing?
If anyone has updated info on BDT in general be great to hear. Is it still only family owned businesses that they invest in? They had a lot of hospitality exposure which I imagine has been completely devastated by the pandemic.

Interviewed with the group-- to my knowledge, associates still focus on a blend of advisory and investing work. Can't speak to whether or not they still only invest in family businesses, but they did emphasize the family business focus, so would imagine that investing in those is still a large part of their investing pool.
