Best funds for H/S/W placement
I have heard that certain PE firms have insanely good placements into HSW (>50%) because a lot of the senior leadership / founders have donated heaps. I am wondering if this is actually true and if so, which funds these are.
Bain, TPG, H&F, CD&R, Berkshire, GTCR, Francisco, New Mountain, GI Partners, Genstar, MDP all do quite well at HSW.
List above is good; would broadly say the Boston firms above in particular (Advent / Bain / Berkshire) have always had a very strong emphasis on business school in particular and have very good pipelines/connections, especially at Harvard given proximity and alumni base.
I think the honest short answer is any megafund.
And yes, some firms with proximity like Bain and Advent will place better into Harvard, than say TPG.
