Best way to detox from a toxic group before new PE job

TLDR; Advice on how to ramp down from job when current group isn't aware/supportive of leaving for PE?

Hello Monkeys,

Background on me - lateral hire from a MM to BB as a second year hire. Lucky enough to secure a MM PE offer for this summer and I'm really excited. I've had a very tough experience at my team - toxic culture, people called me stupid behind my back, and had a rough start. However luckily, turned it around and will land in the middle come year-end. This team consumes me on a daily basis, the people are extremely toxic and I don't want to carry the toxicity, chip to my confidence, and bad vibes in my new role (in a different city). We've had a ton of attrition so it's been hard to get work off my plate. My staffer is insufferable and toxic too, and is unaware how demoralized juniors are.

Wanted to get your advice on:

  1. For those who went through to something similar, what did you to "ramp down" and even "check out?

  2. More existential - those who went through a toxic team environment, how did you reset/cleanse before starting your new gig?

Appreciate all the advise. Want to be in best mental (and physical) shape before my next gig.
