Best way to meet ppl as a PE Associate in NYC

Ignore title - 27F moving to NYC in a small European PE fund (previously Paris, now relocating to New York).

In Paris, the finance community feels relatively small and it's fairly easy to know who's who and hear about industry events. NYC obviously operates on a completely different scale, and I'm trying to figure out the best ways to build both a professional network and a social circle within finance.

For those who made a similar move, what worked best for you?

And if there are any other women in finance here who would be interested in connecting, feel free to dm

There’s a women in finance group called “Synergist” that you can join.

Separately, in NYC you are just going to naturally bump into a lot of people in finance. Particularly if you live in a nice neighborhood, go to a nice gym, etc.

NYC is a city filled with transplants, you’ll meet tons of people over time if you’re patient.
