BlackRock PEP London
Hi all - I was wondering about the working hours at BlackRock PEP? I heard this was a team based in London & Zurich, mainly focusing on co-invest and was wondering if some of you had any insight on the work-life balance there? Also curious about the types of deals you’re working on?
thanks
Based on the most helpful WSO content, there isn't specific information about BlackRock PEP's working hours or work-life balance in London and Zurich. However, here are some general insights on work-life balance in Private Equity (PE) and Investment Banking (IB) in London:

Mostly large cap coinvest, occasionally some middle market deals. Probably 2/3 coinvest and 1/3 funds. You work private equity lite hours but get asset management pay. Leadership in the London office keeps turning over. The senior-most person in Europe is based in Zurich.
can I PM you (or best if you pm me as you're on anonymous) for a follow-up Q?
Thanks!

Thank you, that’s helpful. I thought they did Secondaries as well?
There is a different group that does secondaries (SLS)
That’s helpful thanks! Any insights on salaries at Analyst/ Associate/ VP levels? What’s the USP vs megafunds?
What is USP?
Would you mind PMing me so I can ask an anon question?

Any idea on the interview process for Analyst/ Associate role (e.g., how many rounds, key focus of each round, etc.)?
Analysts come through the HR-led analyst recruiting process. The early stages of that are run by HR and I don’t know how they work though much has been written elsewhere on this site about it. There are 2-3 rounds conducted by the PEP team with the final round being a super day.
Associates are hired on an as-needed basis. The team generally prefers to promote analysts to associate so there is very little hiring done at the associate level.
Most of the process will be behavioral. I don’t believe there is a significant technical component to the analyst hiring process though you might get a very basic technical question or two. There likely is a model test and/or case study for associates.
Thanks for the great insight so far. Do you have any idea on Associate comp range?
Best estimate is 20-30% above the analyst comp noted above.
Thanks all!
