Buyside PE Internship Prep

I’ll be joining a PE group for an internship with no previous experience and wanted to know what the best way to prep for this internship would be?

Certain skills are required, others will be acquired. It’s very hard to acquire some of those without being on the job (think about communication, prioritising different work streams, meeting timelines, having solid eye for detail, etc). You don’t come out of your mum knowing those things, so there’s an element of luck involved here when thinking about how you’ll be perceived having no work experience.

That being said, I’d advise spending time on;
-Accounting fundamentals
-LBO fundamentals (quantitative and qualitative)
-Excel (formulas, shortcuts, data cleaning, general speed)
-PowerPoint (as above)
-Outlook (basic things like scheduling meetings, viewing multiple people’s schedules to coordinate, etc)

Plenty of resources online, really depends on how much time/money you’re willing to allocate to prepare.
