BX Infra Modeling Test

Does anyone have any insight into the first round modelling test for BX infrastructure partners? Cannot find much on what this 90 minute test entails. Is it a more regular-way LBO model or should I prepare for a more infra focused test?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Blackstone Infrastructure Partners' modeling tests can vary, but it's common for infrastructure funds to administer tests that resemble traditional LBO modeling. This approach allows them to evaluate Excel skills and financing knowledge without penalizing candidates who lack direct infrastructure experience.

For preparation: 1. Traditional LBO Models: Practice building a 3-statement LBO model, as this is a frequent test type. You might be asked to complete this within a tight timeframe (e.g., 90 minutes). 2. Infrastructure-Specific Models: While less common, some tests may lean towards infrastructure-focused scenarios, such as construction-stage models or project finance exercises. Resources like Ed Bodmer's project finance materials can be invaluable for this type of preparation (https://edbodmer.com/project-finance-exercises/). 3. Time Management: Given the 90-minute limit, focus on efficiency and clarity in your modeling.

If you're unsure, it's safest to prepare for both traditional LBO and infrastructure-specific tests to cover all bases.
