Capital Introduction

Was recently approached, through friends, by a US PE fund hoping to raise in the Middle East (where I am based) - they're offering a capital introduction fee, and I suppose I would semi-manage the relationship as I'm physically around. I do believe in the businesses & their investing approach, but I'm an investment analyst in a sector quite different to theirs so I'm hesitant to approach HNW, non-finance friends about the opportunity in case I'm off with my assumptions. Would rather take it to more seasoned investors first, and if those guys feel good about it/invest after evaluating, then I'm happy to take it to friends.

Any idea whether it's okay for me to cold outreach to institutional or quasi-institutional LPs saying I'm doing capital introduction for that fund (it's not an issue for my current firm)?. Got some relevant warm leads in mind, just wanting to cast a wide net if it's appropriate.
