Capital Raising/ Fundraising / Placements /BD IR Path Advice?

Hi Everyone -

I've seen many threads on the Fundraising/Placements/BD space, but I would love to get a post going for people like myself, who are looking to break into that space with little to no experience in M&A or other IB jobs.

Based on what I've read so far, it sounds like there is not a "traditional" path into fundraising. As someone looking to break into the space, what would be your suggestions on a first step? Would love any and all advice on starting down this path.
