Career path guidance

Hi,

I have recently graduated in engineering from a top uk school but look to go down a different career path and I am considering studying a Masters in Finance to branch into this sector.

I am unsure of my final career goals but becoming a strategy consultant in a big four firm seems like the logical next step after this masters, with a view of eventually having my own fintech start up or potential branching across into private equity.

What skills that I learn in my further studies of finance would be helpful to a career in Strategy/Management consulting or would they only become useful later if I decided to branch out and create my own fintech start up or try to get into private equity.

Any advice at all on this would be massively appreciated
