Case Study Modeling Etiquette

Interviewing company is asking for a 3-statement model + DCF on a public ticker and gave me Q3 10Q and the latest K for financials.  Am I safe to build the model on an annual basis off the latest full year 10K, or how would I go about building the model annually, using Q3 financials that are fresher?  Does anyone have a download to a stubbed 3 statement model? Is it absolutely necessary to have some form of LTM column? How does the LTM column work / flow with the following full annual calendar year end years after it? I have read about it on here and conceptually understand it, but am struggling to mechanically do one without having a precedent to stare at.
