Catalyst group Inc - Toronto

Does anyone have insight into working here? I have generally heard it is worse than banking but what could one expect? 100 hours every week and working every vacation? Or is that too extreme?

On a side note, do you guys think a distressed fund experience like this would be limiting or would it be good for future exits (HF or other PE)?

good luck working for a fund like Catalyst - expect to get brutalized.

Also interviewed there and bowed out of the process halfway through.

An ex employee analogized working there to "getting assraped everyday"

Also dug this up using the search function, there are a number of other threads that comment on the culture there.

Yeah I saw those threads, was just curious as to what "brutalize" really means. Not too many options in Toronto so if it helps provide a base for other opportunities I can see myself living with it for a couple years
