CFA vs CAIA?

Has anyone decided between CFA and CAIA exams/charterships? What are the differences between the two charterships and exams? Is CAIA well regarded? Is CFA still as relevant as it used to be?

EDIT: Is it still worth pursuing a CFA? I'm in PE but my career has been overseas. As I look to potentially moving back to the US would taking the CFA help add heft and validation to the CV at this point?
