Chance my Oppurtunity for internship at General Atlantic next summer

So basically, I have a connection to a client of General Atlantic. He said he would forward reffer me next summer, and I could possibly get an internship because I expressed my interest in IB/PE and talked about an LBO that recently went through for his company. Is this a golden oppurtunity? I would be a freshman in college next summer and was wondering if firms often take referrals for interns and if this is my path to IB, along with much more networking down the road.

Well, Oliver, if you can “get” an internship at GA - I would do everything in my power to try and convert that into a full time gig.

If there is no full time gig, then yes, you should have your pick of the bulge bracket / elite boutique crop if you’re not an idiot / go to at least a semi-target school
