Bump
A good list of names was posted somewhere in this thread a while back: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/private-equity/moving-from-direct…
Great thread, much appreciated.
Space is pretty diverse with it pretty split between shops where co-invest is handled by the fund team or if they are separate groups/teams. It's becoming increasingly important for a lot of LPs and groups oftn have pretty wide investment parameters allowing them to play in different ends of the market. Some names below not including some more traditional LPs (i.e E&Fs, pensions, etc which also co-invest increasingly more).
UMM: Baupost, Morgan Stanley AIP, Jasper Ridge, JP Morgan AM, HarbourVest, NB, Adams Street, AlpInvest, Allianz, Solamere
MM: Ace & Co, Apogem, East Rock, RCP, Headway, Capital Dynamics, Siguler, Twin Bridge, Portfolio Advisor, HighVista, Sequoia Heritage, Grove Street, Ocean Ave, Partners Capital,
Do you know who the headhunters are for these groups, especially the FoF? Thanks in advance!
Most hire directly tbh. Those that don’t use the usual suspects that you see. I’ve seen several use Opus, Carter Pierce, and smaller HH names.
Ardian, Hamilton Lane, LGT also have sizeable co-investment teams. Best entry point is full-time Associate role.
Curious why best entry point is at the associate level. What about analyst or VP and above
Yes, Analyst is good if they have an Analyst programme (not all do). The reason is that they prefer to promote internally so it is rare to see an open spot for Senior Associate. Even more rare for VP and near impossible for Principal or Partner.
