Where exactly do analysts recruiting for PE slip up? I would assume that as long as you're at a top bank you will get interviews and that every single candidate will be technically prepared enough to pass all model tests.
Conversely, where is the most bang for your buck in differentiating yourself in the recruiting process? Is it just how articulate you are in communicating your deal experience and shit?
