Consumer PE/Growth in NY
Looking to move to NYC and continue with an investor role but optimize for WLB. Currently on the West Coast and making decent comp in PE but working a lot. Not too concerned about comp overall and want to optimize for a great WLB and have time to work on a few things on the side.
Ideally still looking to stay in finance or similar investing role broadly focused in the consumer sector.
Any firms that fit that criteria? Ideally looking for $170-220k comp wise and solid WLB.

Have heard good things about Karp Reilly, but that’s in Greenwich. Not sure how things are at L Catterton, TSG, and ACG. I think TCG also has an office in NYC, but not sure on culture. Sounds like all of them pay in that range or even more.
Karp Reilly and ACG could fit the good WLB criteria. I think L Catterton, TSG, and TCG all have pretty bad culture/long hours
Check out Stripes & Spark, would be surprised if they dont meet the comp / mandate criteria you laid out.

Probably but that's the pay I'll be content with if I can get great WLB. Exploring corp. dev as well but not sure where to start as have always been in IB/PE. Ideally looking to work a normal schedule and 45-50 hrs/week. Great if it's a "investor" role but exploring others also
Sounds like you have 2yr IB+2yr PE experience? Hitting that comp range should be possible in corp dev and more reliably in your WLB preference than another investing role.
Check out PAI - their consumer focus is mainly food&bev, but if that speaks to you it's a very solid, established fund with a mandate to grow nyc office. interviewed there and great people
