Creating Value through Sales

Interning for a Corp Dev for a PE-backed Software firm. Was in a meeting with a potential target company's CEO. One thing that stuck out to me was the discussion of the sales force and how the structure of it matters. Got me wondering what PE investors look for in the sales team, as it is the revenue driving force of a company. How has the structure of Marketing and Sales affected your portfolio company? Looking to learn to make myself someone who can identify opportunities for growth.
