Current Topics in PE Discussion

Hi!

I was wondering what some current topics in PE would be. For example, I recently listened to the book The New Tycoons and it covered the issue of carried interest and execs profit-sharing in deals - and the following political scene surrounding it and how it may be taxed. I want to know current events/details.

I want to understand what is happening in the world of PE. Current Topics, Big Deals, Political Atmosphere surrounding that. Something to talk to managers about and just learn about the field.
