DCM at top BB -> FT PE?

Hi, I am interning at a top BB in IB under DCM. I understand that DCM does not have many exits to PE at the associate level, but would recruitment to FT as an analyst be applicable? I do not know what possible options there are for this specific group.

Am I able to receive a FT offer in LF after interning in DCM all summer? That would be preferred for sure. I do think I will get my return for DCM, but would like to potentially exit to the private side down the line (or at least have the option)

Depends where you want to end up. If you’re fine doing MM/LMM, you can definitely find shops that are willing to take you. But if you’re set on UMM/MF, doesn’t seem likely.

I currently work at a LMM firm (I know it’s a mixed bag) and I love it. I also came from a MM Product group (not LevFin). You have to be really comfortable with case studies and interview extremely well but it’s definitely possible.
