Not likely. Most FT PE roles pull from their own intern class, you can try netwotking but I would not let your DCM offer expire so you have maybe a few weeks to land something
Try and switch to a coverage group or lev fin
Am I able to receive a FT offer in LF after interning in DCM all summer? That would be preferred for sure. I do think I will get my return for DCM, but would like to potentially exit to the private side down the line (or at least have the option)
Ideally you would have been networking with LF all summer - but yes it's possible. can talk to HR, or recruit elsewhere until the DCM offer expires
DCM skillset is entirely different from PE.
What about private credit?
Impossible, PC have similar skill set as PE.
Bump
Depends where you want to end up. If you’re fine doing MM/LMM, you can definitely find shops that are willing to take you. But if you’re set on UMM/MF, doesn’t seem likely.
I currently work at a LMM firm (I know it’s a mixed bag) and I love it. I also came from a MM Product group (not LevFin). You have to be really comfortable with case studies and interview extremely well but it’s definitely possible.
