Dilemma
I am a freshman at a target, and can relatively easily graduate in 3 years. From those who I have talked to, said to just enjoy college and stay 4, but I think there is other options. I was thinking what if I graduated in 3 and then went and got a masters. What type of masters and from where would be best? How is a masters compared to an MBA later on down the road. I want to go into Private Equity, but have had no luck finding an internship this summer. Thoughts?
I rather you get 1 year worth of internship experience in PE/IB than do masters.
What benefit do you see in doing college in 3 years and then doing a (presumable one year) masters vs. just doing 4 years of college?
I will echo what the posters in front of me have already mentioned. At the end of the day, it is a high risk approach. Please keep in mind that you are struggling to find an internship right now and it is hard for everyone to find something during their first summer. Don't get me wrong, you certainly still have some time to find something. I think graduating early will simply make finding a great summer internship in 2018, which you will presumably be able to convert into a FT position, even harder. I flirted with graduating early for some time as well, but quickly shot any serious thoughts about it down for various reasons: 1) one additional internship where I can try something new/something I am interested in/see another country or city 2) one more year of college where I can take more courses outside of my major 3) party my ass off with my bros
I am curious. Why are you set on PE already? How do you know this for sure?
