Direct Lending / BDC Interview

Hi everyone,

I have an upcoming interview with a well-known multi-billion AUM Direct Lending fund / BDC. I'm currently a 1st year in banking and this opportunity is for a summer 2018 start.

I searched the forum but there is little information on what to prepare for an interview. The credit space is very broad so I'm not sure what types of questions to expect.

Can anyone please share some insights or resources? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why credit versus control-equity? What structure are you most interested in (senior, HY, structured, etc.)? What makes a good credit candidate? What are some common credit ratios and how would you calculate them? What industries would you currently invest in? Why did you wear such a hideous tie?

I think there is actually a lot of information out there on this subject.
