Does carry step up if you’re promoted?
If you get promoted from say senior associate to VP in the middle of a fund, would your basis in that fund typically increase?

Typically — yes… but carry dynamics are very specific to your firm, strategy, etc. I would expect some incremental step-up upon promo… but if Sr. Associate to VP, you should just be lucky to have had it at such a junior level.
