Dubai PE Compensation
Monkeys need your help here
I recently got a PE offer from Dubai offering ~£80k salary annually. Is this standard? Anyone with a good sense of the average market comp?
For the record I am an IB Analyst in London with 3 years work experience. It feels a little low and would like to hear your thoughts
Bump, also interested. OP, more generally interested in your background and what the process was because I want to move to DXB. Happy to discuss here or you can PM me, whatever works best.
That's really low and a likely indicator of other low-ball management tactics. Unless they're going to comp living expenses, I'd stear clear.
For PE, below is the range that I am aware of:
Analyst 3: $150K (all in)
Associate 1: $180K
Assume +/- $20K
Of course, there is no tax on the above.
$180k is base salary?
And just to be clear this is by Dubai's standards? I know US comps tend to be higher
This is for an Associate position, so it looks really low
Compare the stated figures to your net pay in London. Have friends in European funds, and their net pay is in line with this as well.
Tbh might be better to ask via Linkedin connections because the data points are super sparse due to Dubai not being a great PE scene after Abraaj collapse.
But one aspect to be wary is that it depends how big of a PE firm it is - if it is a family office expect it to be lower.
heard that there's not much of a family office scene in UAE, you find them more commonly in countries like Saudi
That seems quite low. First-year analysts at MBB Dubai almost make that much with basic salary + housing allowance. If you have any questions on Dubai, cost of living, etc. feel free to comment or PM. Happy to help
80k + housing for a grad?
The ~80k for analysts include housing allowance.
PE Comp varies wildly in the middle east afaik. I work in a PE Shop in another middle east country, so don't know too much about Dubai. But a friend got offered £50k base as a 1st year analyst at one of the largest PE Shop in the uae. Even at workplace, the compensation is close to that, (think slightly lower), for a 1st year analyst but we're also a small PE shop.
