Hypothesis: i think normally europeans just want to stay in the US for 2/3 years, get the experience and then come back home (family/higher standard of looking / better looking girls etc etc) and to break in PE, you'd need to stick it out in the country for few years, build network etc.
Did you mean "higher standard of living"? Are you really saying that Europe has a higher standard of living? A very odd statement.
