Feedback call after Final Round Interview - Good or Bad Sign?

Hi all,

Had a final round interview with a PE fund on Tuesday. Interviews went well in my view and HR said they would get back to me with a decision the next day.

Next day comes and I receive an email from HR that reads somewhere along the lines of “Hey I hope you’re well; Are you available Friday afternoon, I would like to give you feedback on your final round interviews. Looking forward to your response”

Is this generally a good or bad sign? Currently thinking that they could’ve just called me quickly and let me know that I don’t get the job instead of writing an email and scheduling another call. On the other hand the email sounds super neutral to me which is not a good sign for positive feedback I guess.

No way to know for sure of course until I have the call but I’m really nervous and would love to hear from your experiences on feedback calls after the final round.

Thanks!

Hey first want to say I hope I'm wrong but I would think about approaching the call not expecting good news. From my experience (and friends), for good news I've seen more where they just either (1) call you unscheduled or (2) email you and state you got the offer. Again just my experience. If this is a big UMM/MF PE, then maybe they have some standard HR procedure like this though.

I remember when I had an in-person final round scheduled, I didn't really respond or think about other interview processes the week before and during that week. It's better to assume you don't have the job until it's signed and to keep grinding on networking / other interview processes (i.e. act like you didn't just do a final round). Basically don't put your eggs in one basket.

Hope it's good news though!
