Final Round of MM PE as a Consultant?
I'm a consultant from a T2 firm who's made it to the final rounds of a MM PE shop -- any advice? This would be for a commercial due diligence role (where the main duties are to assess the market potential of a given acquisition, rather than the actual deal structuring).
To give further insight, the first few rounds were more on the behavioral side, and the previous round was a 2-hour case study where I had to read a CIM and create a long-form presentation on my findings & make an assessment.
Any ideas on what should I anticipate for the final round?
Could be anything. Ask your headhunter or someone you know a little bit at the firm, or the in-house HR.
In my experience final round is when you basically meet everyone at the firm. Most likely the majority/important partners and perhaps a few principals
.
Ask me again after I've accepted an offer -- happy to share after I've got it all sorted.
Likely discussing your presentation if you haven't done that yet and then meeting the senior team members for more behavioral/fit interviews. You should be in a pretty good spot (especially if you're set and done w the case) at this point so definitely project confidence and focus on getting along w the team. Good luck
how'd it go, OP? any update?
