Fintech growth/PE exit opps

Hi all,

Currently recruiting for an associate position at some fintech growth / vc firms. I'm not set on fintech however (more interested in generalist tech investing) and wanted to ask what exit opps look like for a role like this. How hard is it to move from fintech investing > generalist? I'm not having much luck at the generalist firms I've applied to so trying to see if I should stick to fintech for now with the hope of maybe moving elsewhere down the road (the firms I'm looking at right now are 2 and out).

thanks very much

Depends on what type of experience you’d be getting. Do you consider FinTech to include tech-enabled balance sheet lenders? That’s not a particularly applicable skill set to tech investing. If Fintech means SaaS companies doing software for insurance companies, then its much more applicable to regular way tech investing. Every firm uses the buzz word differently. Every legacy FIG shop says they are FinTech. Some of them are, but some of them aren’t.
