From HF to PE with no prior banking experience

Folks,

Anybody has experience with moving from value investing HF to PE without prior banking experience? Went from no-name undergrad straight to HF thank to an unconventional background, but now 4 years in am looking to switch, but concerned about the structured pedigreed recruiting process for PE funds.

Unless you have a gold plated resume in undergrad, I wouldn't want you being my associate. Maybe as an analyst it could work.

Maybe improve your attention to detail, Principal in PE. This is a post from 2018.
