Fund placement vs strategy consulting

Weighing up two entry-level offers, one from each: finding it very difficult to make up my mind, so any thoughts/advice is much appreciated. It’s a very good fund placement boutique vs a Big 4 level consulting arm.

The trade-off in my mind is between the relative safety of consulting given the plethora of exit opps, and then on the other hand the higher income and more interesting work of the boutique. I really do think I’d love the work, it’s a great team too — but it’s kind of a bet on career progression within the niche, and I know that while it’s possible to jump to FoF or specialise in secondaries it’s definitely nowhere near as much flexibility as with consulting. Trying to guard against my future self feeling like he’s hit a dead-end/no longer enamoured with the work.

So yeah, that’s my situation and thanks in advance for any advice!
